Even if the CAS number of a contained chemical substance is not on the search list, reporting is required if it is a declarable substance .
In such a case, please select the relevant SN number substance (*) and enter the CAS number in the comment field as much as possible.
Even for substances other than declarable substances that do not have a corresponding SN number substance, you can use the "the optional reporting" function to communicate information on substances that chemSHERPA does not target for information communication.
For details on the "the optional reporting" function, please check the operation manual and the data entry manual of the data entry support tool.
(*) SN number substances are substances that are listed with an SN number assigned instead of a CAS number for declarable substances (groups) that substances without a CAS number because they are a substance group, have an irregular structure or are a new chemical substance, etc.
The SN number is a unique serial number (“SN” + 4-digit number) determined by chemSHERPA for purposes of convenience and holds no further meaning. (For details, please refer to 3.2.3 Allocation of unique numbers in the “Explanation of chemSHERPA Declarable Substances”.)
A list of listed SN numbers and substance names is listed in Appendix A of the "Explanation of chemSHERPA Declarable Substances" included with the tool.
