I’m unsure if Bell Hammer Metal Grease can be used on CV joints. Could you share any actual use cases or your company’s opinion on its suitability?

CV joints are critical components subject to high loads and high rotational speeds, requiring lubricants with excellent wear resistance, pressure resistance, heat resistance, and long-term durability. Bell Hammer Metal Grease is a product developed to meet these performance requirements and has a proven track record in high-load environments such as the following:

• Construction machinery pins and bushings (suppresses wear even under impact loads and dusty environments)

• Industrial robot high-load bearings (maintains a protective film even under high-speed operation)

• Motor sports vehicle suspension links, etc. (highly evaluated in racing environments)

From these examples, it is clear that Metal Grease has the potential to deliver sufficient durability and lubrication performance even in high-load areas such as CV joints.

However, many automobile manufacturers specify their own proprietary grease for CV joints, which is designed with special shear characteristics and compatibility with sealed structures in mind. Therefore, we generally recommend using the original equipment manufacturer's (OEM) grease as the standard.

If used as an alternative, it is at the user's own risk, but we judge that there are no performance issues. We kindly ask that you consider the above points when deciding to use it.
