A torque cam has two main lubrication zones:
- Frictional contact area (for torque transmission)
- Sliding guide area (cam grooves, guide pins, etc.)
These require different grease types.
Frictional contact area
This section relies on controlled friction to transmit torque, so extreme-pressure lubricants such as LS Bell Hammer series are not suitable.
If lubricity is too high, it can reduce friction and cause torque slippage or malfunction.
Sliding surfaces (cam grooves, guides)
For areas where smooth movement and wear prevention are desired, Bell Hammer Metal Grease is recommended.
It forms a strong protective film on metal surfaces, reducing wear, seizure, and abnormal noise.
Summary
・Torque-transmitting friction surface → Do not use extreme-pressure greases.
・Sliding and guide surfaces → Use Bell Hammer Metal Grease.
