Bell Hammer Metal Grease blends a Metal Soap Complex, organic molybdenum, and Bell Hammer additives to form a strong EP film that maintains lubrication under high load and high temperature.
Open-type bearings (serviceable):
Usable without issue. It greatly reduces metal contact, lowers noise and rolling resistance, and remains stable even for circuit or other high-load use.
Sealed bearings (non-serviceable with seals):
Not recommended because replacing the factory grease is difficult, and mixing different greases can degrade performance. If you must proceed, remove as much old grease as possible and apply only a small amount.
Guideline for the Fairlady Z (Z32):
Because the Z32 is heavy and high output, target about 30–40% of the bearing’s internal volume to avoid overpacking. After assembly, rotate the hub lightly to distribute the grease evenly.
In summary, Metal Grease is well suited to open hub bearings; use extreme caution with sealed types and proceed only after thorough cleaning if attempted.
