Because the pulley and torque cam serve different functions, the suitable grease also differs.
・For the pulley’s sliding pieces and ramp plate: use a grease with high wear and heat resistance to ensure smooth operation.
・For the torque cam: it contains both a friction-driven surface (for torque transfer) and a sliding guide area (cam grooves, guides). Extreme-pressure greases reduce friction too much and may cause slipping or malfunction on the torque transfer surface.
Therefore, Bell Hammer Metal Grease is recommended only for the sliding guide areas of the torque cam (such as cam grooves).
Do not apply grease to the friction-driven surfaces, or use the manufacturer’s specified grease for those parts.
If your model specifies a particular grease type, it’s best to confirm the recommendation with a dealer or repair shop before applying.
