Since the edges (metal parts on the sides) of skis and snowboards have a great deal to do with grip and control when skiing, regular tuning (polishing and shaping) is important.
In fact, there have been cases where Bellhammer has been used as a lubricant during edge tuning work, which can be expected to result in smooth grinding and extend the life of edges.
