Effects of each product on rubber and plastic components
Our lubricating sprays and greases are primarily designed to enhance the performance of metal sliding parts. However, depending on the usage environment, contact with rubber or plastic components may occur.
For Bell Hammer Standard Spray and Bell Hammer GOLD Spray, there are very few reported cases of significant impact on rubber or plastic materials.
In particular, commonly used industrial materials such as nitrile rubber (NBR) and polyurethane rubber (PUR), which are often used in oil seals and gaskets, are generally compatible. These products are designed for safe use with such materials, and we have many test records showing no issues in lubrication applications.
Spraying on motorcycle front forks, when done for lubricating metal sliding parts, is also not problematic.
Silicone grease, on the other hand, has excellent compatibility with rubber and plastic. It has a strong track record of use with O-rings and seal materials. Due to its chemical stability, it can be used across a wide range of materials, even beyond NBR and PUR, without needing to worry much about oil resistance.
As for Metal Grease, although it is a high-performance grease specialized for lubrication between metals with excellent extreme pressure and heat resistance, it does not contain organic solvents. As such, it has relatively low impact on rubber or plastic. That said, we recommend conducting a test application on a non-visible area before first use.
Differentiating between Bell Hammer grease products
Our grease products come in several types to suit various uses and environments.
Bell Hammer Grease No.0
This is a softer type that spreads easily and performs well even at low temperatures. It is suitable for applications requiring wide-area coverage, such as linear guides or open gears.
Bell Hammer Grease No.2
A standard-consistency grease suitable for general mechanical components like bearings and joints. It offers a good balance of retention and load resistance and is a versatile, all-purpose option.
Metal Grease
This grease delivers excellent lubrication under high-load and high-temperature conditions. It is ideal for metal-to-metal sliding surfaces or areas subject to strong impact or vibration. It is also used in racing vehicles and specialized machinery.
