■ 1983 Harley-Davidson XLX-61 (Ironhead)
This model typically features a separate engine, transmission, and dry clutch system. Therefore, using Bell Hammer Light in the engine oil system is generally acceptable.
However, depending on the bike’s specific configuration or customization, this may vary. We recommend confirming with the service manual or a trusted mechanic.
■ Sportster models with Evolution engines (1986 and later)
From 1986 onward, Sportsters adopted a unified engine, transmission, and wet clutch design.
In such cases, adding Bell Hammer to the engine oil may cause the clutch to slip. Therefore, we do not recommend its use in these models.
■ Recommended dosage
If the bike has a dry clutch and a separate engine oil system, add Bell Hammer Light at approximately 2–5% of the total engine oil volume.
For example, with 3 liters of oil, the ideal amount would be 60–150 ml.
Please avoid adding the full 250 ml at once—adjust the amount accordingly.
■ Recommended type of Bell Hammer for motorcycles
For engine applications in motorcycles, we recommend Bell Hammer Light (low viscosity type).
It offers excellent fluidity, penetration, lubrication, and protection, especially suitable for high-RPM, high-temperature environments typical of motorcycle engines.
It is also safe for use on chains, footpegs, clutch levers, and other sliding parts.
